What to look for when buying a tv

What to look for when buying a tv

1. How big should your television be?

A critical decision when buying a television is the choice for the size of the screen. TV's are available in many different image sizes: from small sizes up to 32 inches (81cm) to giants with a diagonal image of up to 65 inches (165 cm).

When choosing the right picture format, the distance between the television and your seating is decisive: the more significant this viewing distance, the bigger the TV especially if you want use your 4k tv for gaming. Also, people find a range of approximately 2.4 times the picture diagonal of the TV (in centimeters) on average the most comfortable.

Measure at home the distance (in centimeters) between the bench and the intended spot of the television and part that by 2.4. Then you have an indication for the image diagonal in centimeters.

Do you prefer to know it in an inches-the size of TV's is, in fact, standard in inches-proportion than the measured distance by 6. You also can check some review about tv buying guide on a website like Passtools.com or Cnet.com

2. Do you need to buy an Ultra HD TV?

Many televisions in the store are nowadays ' ultra-HD (UHD) ' or ' 4k '. Both terms mean the same and are used interrelatedly.

The display of a UHD/4k TV has 4 times as many pixels as a full-HD TV. With this higher screen resolution, 4k TVs can theoretically show a sharper picture with 4 times as much detail than a full-HD TV. The TV shows or movies you watch should also be recorded in 4k and broadcast. Although 4k is emerging, the offer is still quite limited.

Also, it is quite difficult in practice to always see a clear difference between UHD/4k and full-HD, even if you are very close to the screen. Many people don't always notice a difference.

3. Do you choose an LCD TV or an OLED TV?

Almost all televisions in the store are LCD TVs with LED backlighting, also called LED TV. Besides, there are more and more OLED TVs on the market, and concerning image quality, we often find them at the top of our test. Although there are also LCD TVs that come near or match the image quality, like some qled TVs.

One technique is not necessarily superior to the other in all areas. For example, OLED TV's generally offer a larger viewing angle, but qled TVs can often produce higher brightness.

4. A flat or a curved TV?

A curved television has a slightly curved screen, but from our test, it turns out that this curvature does not do much for the image quality. However, they suffer some more from reflections in the image. It's actually a matter of taste whether such a curved TV is something for you.

What is a good brand of television?
The best-known and best-selling television brands in the Netherlands are Samsung, Philips, Sony, LG, and Panasonic.

But which of these brands is actually a good television brand? How do users appreciate the stations of these brands? We asked more than 3600 members of our Internet panel.

Many users are delighted with their television, each brand gets a spacious enough. Samsung and Panasonic score the highest, followed by LG and Sony. Just below are Philips and Loewe.

5. Smart TV: handy or redundant?

Watch your favorite Netflix series, watch a missed TV show, browse the Web, or rent a movie. It can be with the apps you find on smart TVs. These TVs are connected to the Internet. The apps operate with the TV remote control.

What apps are on the TV varies by TV brand. Besides, apps can just disappear from your smart TV in a few years. Guarantee to the door. Very disappointing! We Think TV manufacturers should take more responsibility for the apps on their TVs.
